    • TMobile is set to make its unlimited plan a bit more attractive.
    • After introducing free Netflix to all customers on its TMobile ONE unlimited family plan, the carrier is set to take another action that is sure to impress its user base while enticing customers from other carriers.
    • While we don't have all the details just yet, it's clear that TMobile is trying to move as many of its legacy customers over to TMobile ONE as quickly as possible.
    • CEO John Legere said in a conference call after the recent Netflix announcement that "TMobile is in the business of selling TMobile ONE plans," as opposed to trying to bundle other types of vertically integrated content like AT&T's DirecTV and Verizon's Go90.
    • Which unlimited plan should you buy?

    • Gmail is packed with a lot of timesaving features, like Smart Replies for mobile users.
    • So it’s a bit surprising to realize that Gmail will only now start to automatically convert addresses, phone numbers and contacts into links.
    • The feature begins rolling out today for Gmail and Inbox on Android, iOS and the web.
    • Address links will open Google Maps, clicking on an email address launches a new compose window in your email client and phone numbers dial a new call in Hangouts or your default phone app.
    • As the G Suite team blog puts it, “Gmail users often exchange information like addresses and phone numbers with each other to set up meetings, introduce colleagues and plan events.

    • French startup Younited Credit is building the biggest crowdlending platform in continental Europe.
    • Younited Credit is currently live in France, Spain and Italy as a consumerfacing product.
    • So far, Younited Credit has managed the equivalent of $600 million in loans (€500 million), including $300 million in the last 12 months alone (€250 million).
    • Your phone carrier could let you borrow money from Younited Credit for this purchase directly on its website.
    • That’s how Younited Credit could eventually beat traditional banks and credit cards.

    • And at long last, August has released the third generation of its flagship product: the August Smart Lock Pro.
    • The Smart Lock Pro keeps the old cylindrical August appearance, but the company has also developed a costreduced August Smart Lock.
    • My bottom line recommendation remains: If you’re retrofitting, you won’t find a better choice than the August Smart Lock Pro.
    • It’s certainly not much in the looks department, but at just $149, it’s almost half the price of the Smart Lock Pro.
    • Unfortunately, as easy as the Smart Lock Pro (and 2nd generation Smart Lock) is to work with, the 3rd generation still has some kinks in the system.

    • If you think that too many VCs these days are playing it safe and only looking to back sure bets rather than moonshots and more ambitious ventures, take a look over at what’s going on in Boston.
    • The Engine, based out of MIT and Cambridge, has raised a $200 million fund to back and help incubate startups working on “tough tech” — new challenges in areas like aerospace, advanced materials, biotech, genetic engineering and renewable energy.
    • There, they have the option of taking digs at The Engine itself.
    • The Engine, she said, plans to build “clusters” — which sound like labs — around specific areas like energy and biomedicine to help provide facilities to the startups.
    • Rae said that about $25 million of the funding comes from MIT, with the rest from family offices and other funds.

    • Blin.gy, the app that let users insert themselves into their favorite music videos, is shutting down.
    • Chosen started out as a talent competition app that eventually focused mostly on music.
    • What set Blin.gy’s features apart from other background effects, like those in Apple’s Photo Booths, was that Blin.gy worked with nonstabilized, moving cameras.
    • In the end, the startup decided to put itself up for sale.
    • Hyman says Blin.gy reached the final stages of talks with an acquirer, but that deal failed to come to fruition.

    • Had I been using Adan Medical‘s smart case for EpiPens, my mom and emergency response teams would’ve been notified the moment I opened the case.
    • Adan Medical recently finished clinical trial around its smart case, which it expects to sell for about $70.
    • Given that the regulatory process is different in Europe, Adan Medical expects to sell its smart case directly to consumers in about six months.
    • Adan Medical is also making a box for public spaces, similar to how defibrillators are available at restaurants.
    • This smart box is a bit down the road, but Adan Medical plans to run a study in several schools starting next school year.

    • In the evermoving musical chairs that is the tech industry, Twitter has added a new person to its product team.
    • Sriram Krishnan is now senior director of product at the social media platform.
    • He will be reporting to Keith Coleman, who is Twitter’s newish VP of Product (he joined in December).
    • You may know Sriram from Tech Twitter — he’s a regular fixture there, pontificating, debating and snarking in 140 characters or less.
    • It’s unclear what he will be working on specifically at Twitter, but there are plenty of issues to fix.
