    • Knowing how old most of you are though, hopefully we can keep the stories of Conestoga wagons to a minimum today.
    • What vehicle brought you home from the hospital, your firstever actual ride in a car?
    • I know you were fooled by the excellent headline photo featuring the Chevrolet Celebrity Eurosport VR coupe, its  special trim, and my mom from her modeling career. The actual vehicle that brought me home from the hospital was a 1985 Buick Regal.
    • It was there for the first few years of my life, up until it was replaced with something more familyfriendly but worse in every other capacity.
    • So what was the first ride of your life?

    • We’ve been covering the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon a crapload here, like every carfreak website out there: how crazy fast it is, why it’s banned by the NHRA, why it makes people soil their underbits, and on and on and on.
    • There’s one big question no one has answered: exactly what demon is the Dodge Demon demon?
    • The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon must be referring to a specific demon, of which there are plenty.
    • They didn’t name it the Dodge Challenger SRT Satan, after all, probably because that didn’t focus group well with people who prefer Jesus or whoever to the Prince of Lies.
    • But yeah, now we know: that demon on the Challenger SRT Demon has a name.

    • They thought buying an Oldsmobile Firenza would save their marriage.
    • And you know what?
    • They were right.

    • Traffic sucks, so why not start your morning off with some music?
    • You provide the toast and we’ll provide the jams.
    • This particular song is from their 2013 album The Speed of Things, and we’re jamming in honor of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s retirement.
    • Here’s to life in the slightly slower lane, Dale!

    • Spring is ripe with opportunity to get outside, but getting the right gear for the weather is always the hard part.
    • Amazon is right there with you, marking down a ton of activewear apparel, from brands like PUMA, Adidas, Champion, Reebok, and more, so you can get outside, even if it’s just for a nice, brisk walk to the deli for a sandwich.
    • Here are a few styles, including some great golf shirts and windbreakers for the notalwaysdry weather, but head to Amazon to see the rest.

    • Native advertising is funny.
    • No, native advertising humors me when it becomes obvious just how difficult it was for a company to strike the right balance.
    • Lexus comparison test for Automobile Magazine.
    • The winner of the comparison test?
    • But is the Buick the winner only barely, or is the Buick Buick’s winner by a wide margin?

    • Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe Mercedes 300 CE is a car you might have forgotten ever existed.
    • Remarkably, these cars were Mercedes’ first fourplace convertible since the 1971 280SE. They were heavily reengineered for convertible duty with substantially strengthened floors, door pillars and windshield frames.
    • Fun fact, in the John Grisham book, the car’s a BMW. That all makes this 1993 Mercedes 300CE convertible an intriguing proposition.
    • That price is $7,700 which if you check around is just a little more than half of what many 300CEs are asking.
    • With that in mind, what’s your vote on this ’93 Convertible and that $7,700 price?

    • The universe has made its antifun stance known, culminating in the $3,000 fine lobbied against Australian Supercars driver Chaz Mostert for doing a sick burnout that would make every hoon in Australia shed a single tear of glee.
    • Mostert was celebrating his first win since he’d returned from a bad accident at Bathurst in 2015, per WTF1.
    • If you must fine him for something, the close call Mostert as he rejoined the track seems like the thing to penalize.
    • Supercars deemed Mostert’s epic burnout to be a “static burnout,” which is apparently against the series rules for reasons I can’t understand.
    • As a result, Mostert was given a $3,000 Australian fine ($2,260 in American dollars), $2000 Australian ($1,507 US) of which was suspended until the end of the year.

    • A threefoot continental giant rabbit named Simon allegedly died in the cargo hold while traveling on a United Airlines flight from London’s Heathrow Airport to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport—the same airport where a United passenger was violently dragged off of an overbooked flight earlier this month.
    • Simon’s breeder, Annette Edwards—who was once a Playboy model and had plastic surgery to look like the Jessica Rabbit cartoon, claims the bunny had a full checkup and was cleared perfectly healthy just before the flight, reaffirming the mystery of Simon’s death in transit with United.
    • The safety and wellbeing of all the animals that travel with us is of the utmost importance to United Airlines and our PetSafe team.
    • The timing of Simon’s death is unfortunate, as Easter has just passed.
    • It’s also not great for United’s reputation as its faces fallout for the massive April 10 story about the man who suffered a concussion, broken nose, and lost two of his front teeth as he was forcibly dragged off of an overbooked United flight.

    • Now imagine that this reduction in cost comes from a reduction in distance traveled, meaning a reduction in the environmental impact of the global shipping trade.
    • And it may soon be possible with the rate at which the Arctic ice cap is melting (which doesn’t sound so nice).
    • It wasn’t until 2013 when the first commercial shipping boat made a successful international journey, cutting from Canada to Finland.
    • The northwest passage lacks a few things that would be needed for an international waterway designation.
    • So don’t let the promise of easier trade blind you from the very real implication of losing the Arctic ice sheet.
